I am trying to move away from sugary drinks, sodas and cordials and drink more water every day.  The trouble is, I miss the flavors of my sweet drinks.  I discovered the simplicity and freshness that is Fruit Infused Waters.  It’s delicious, has no additives and inexpensive.  In addition I am reducing my carbon footprint by not using disposable plastic water bottles every day.  The kids will love this healthy alternative in their lunch box too!

The water is very easy to make.  It’s best to prepare it and let it infuse overnight.  I like to use Mason Jars – as I have so many! The water is good to drink all the next day. Pour it into an insulated container and make another batch in the Mason Jar, while you are out all day.  You can reuse the fruit and make two or three batches with the same fruit.  Mix and match flavors, to find your favorite and add herbs, I like mint.

Good Fruit to Use: Blueberry, Strawberry, Orange, Lemon, Lime, Cucumber.

Berry-Nice: Blueberries and Strawberries

Citrus Blast : Orange, Lemon & Lime

Cool As A Cucumber: Cucumber and Mint

5 O’Clock Mojito: Lime and Mint

Southern Belle: Strawberry and Mint

Saint Clements: Orange and Lemon

Pimms: Everything

Ratio To 1 Quart (4 cups) Iced Water

  • 1 cup Blueberries, whole
  • 1 Cup Strawberries – sliced
  • 1/2 Lemon – Sliced
  • 1/2 Orange – Sliced
  • Whole Lime – Sliced
  • Cucumber – 1/4 English, sliced
  • Sprig of Mint
  • Reduce ratios for Pimms!
